Taco Bell Coming Near Heritage Park West: New Restaurant Planned for Growing Katy Park Area

Residents of Heritage Park West may soon have another quick and convenient dining option just minutes from home.

Plans have been filed for the construction of a new Taco Bell at 3087 Katy Hockley Cut Off Road in northwest Katy, within Read-King's Katy Park development, an emerging mixed-use destination designed to serve one of the region's fastest-growing residential areas. The new restaurant represents another sign of continued commercial investment in the Katy area as thousands of new homes are planned nearby and retail growth keeps pace with population growth.

According to project filings, the privately funded development calls for the construction of a 2,115-square-foot Taco Bell restaurant, with work scheduled to begin August 31, 2026, and reach completion by December 15, 2026. The estimated construction cost is $1.5 million.

Another Addition to Katy's Rapidly Growing Retail Landscape

The new restaurant will be located within The Green at Katy Park, Read-King's planned retail and community destination at the northwest corner of Katy Hockley Cutoff Road and Morton Road. The development is envisioned as a gathering place that combines restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and community green space into a walkable environment designed for everyday visits.

According to Read-King's development materials, The Green at Katy Park is planned to include approximately 60,000 square feet of retail, food, and dining space, along with more than 20,000 square feet of landscaped community green space. The project is intended to create a central destination where neighbors can dine, shop, and spend time together close to home.

Its location also places it near several of the area's busiest destinations, including Katy Park, which attracts more than 700,000 visitors annually, nearby Katy ISD athletic facilities, a high-volume H-E-B store, and major transportation corridors including the Grand Parkway (SH 99) and Interstate 10. Development materials also project that more than 24,000 new homes are expected within the surrounding trade area by 2032, highlighting why additional restaurants and retailers continue to invest in this part of Katy.

For residents of Heritage Park West, the addition means another convenient option for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or late-night meals without needing to travel farther into central Katy.

A Closer Look at Taco Bell

Founded in 1962 by entrepreneur Glen Bell in Downey, California, Taco Bell has grown into one of the world's largest quick-service Mexican-inspired restaurant chains. Today, the brand operates more than 8,500 locations worldwide, serving millions of customers each week across the United States and internationally.

Known for offering affordable, customizable menu options, Taco Bell features favorites such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, Crunchwrap Supremes, nachos, Mexican pizzas, breakfast items, vegetarian selections, specialty beverages, and limited-time menu offerings that frequently generate customer excitement.

The chain is part of Yum! Brands, which also owns KFC, Pizza Hut, and Habit Burger & Grill.

Continued Growth Near Heritage Park West

The planned Taco Bell reflects the broader commercial expansion taking place throughout northwest Katy as residential growth fuels demand for additional dining, shopping, and everyday services.

New restaurants often follow rapidly growing neighborhoods, providing residents with more nearby choices while helping create destinations that reduce the need for longer drives across town. As additional businesses continue to announce plans within the Katy Park area, the corridor is steadily evolving into a regional hub for both longtime residents and families moving into nearby communities.

While construction timelines can change as development progresses, current filings anticipate the restaurant could be completed before the end of 2026, bringing another recognizable national brand to the area surrounding Heritage Park West.
