Spring ISD Back to School Expo Returns August 1 with Free School Supplies, Student Services and Family Resources

North Houston  /  North Houston
July 01 2026

For families in Eagle Landing whose children attend Spring ISD schools, the countdown to a new school year comes with an opportunity to check several important items off the back-to-school checklist in one place.

Spring Independent School District will host its annual Back to School Expo from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at Dekaney High School, located at 22351 Imperial Valley Drive in Houston. The free event is designed to help students and families begin the 2026-27 school year prepared, connected and ready for success before classes begin on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

For many families throughout Eagle Landing, the expo offers more than just school supplies. It provides convenient access to district services, health resources and community organizations that can help eliminate common back-to-school challenges while introducing new families to everything Spring ISD has to offer.

A One-Stop Resource for Spring ISD Families

The annual Back to School Expo brings together Spring ISD departments, campus representatives and community partners to provide a wide range of free services and information for families.

Attendees can receive assistance with:

  • Student registration
  • Annual Student Update completion for returning students
  • Pre-K language testing
  • Hearing and vision screenings
  • School supplies
  • Children's haircuts
  • Information from district departments and campuses
  • Community resource connections
  • Houston Food Bank food distribution (while supplies last)

Families who are considering enrolling their children in Spring ISD are also encouraged to attend and learn more about the district's schools, academic programs and enrollment process.

Supporting Students Before the First Day of School

District leaders say the event is centered on helping every student arrive on the first day of school with the resources they need to succeed.

"We want every family to know they are supported and valued," Superintendent Dr. Kregg Cuellar said. "The Back-to-School Expo is about removing barriers, connecting families with resources, and ensuring every student begins the school year ready to succeed. This event reflects our commitment to customer service and the family-first approach that defines the new Spring ISD."

The expo brings together Spring ISD departments and community organizations in one place, making it easier for families to access many of the services they need before the school year begins.

Don't Forget the Annual Student Update

Returning Spring ISD families attending from Eagle Landing can also complete the district's required Annual Student Update during the event.

The Annual Student Update must be completed before students return to class on Wednesday, Aug. 12, helping ensure emergency contacts, medical information and other important student records are current before the new school year begins.

Completing the update early can help families avoid last-minute delays as the first day of school approaches.
