Williamsburg Colony June Constable Patrol Report Highlights More Than 500 Proactive Law Enforcement Activities

July 02 2026

For many Williamsburg Colony residents, seeing a Harris County Precinct 5 deputy driving through the neighborhood is a familiar sight. While it's easy to notice a patrol vehicle, much of the work happening behind the scenes often goes unseen.

The Harris County Constable Precinct 5 Beat Activity Report for June 1-30, 2026, offers a snapshot of that activity, documenting 539 calls for service and proactive law enforcement activities within the patrol area during the month. The report reflects everything from routine neighborhood patrols and business checks to responding to calls for service and assisting residents.

Rather than signaling a rise in crime, many of the report's entries represent preventative policing—efforts designed to deter criminal activity, increase visibility, and respond to residents' concerns before problems escalate.

What the June Patrol Report Shows

The largest category by far was 460 contract patrol checks, reflecting deputies' ongoing presence throughout Williamsburg Colony as part of contracted neighborhood patrol services. These proactive patrols are intended to discourage criminal activity while giving residents additional peace of mind.

Other frequently documented activities included:

  • 14 Meet the Citizen/Officer contacts
  • 5 Neighborhood Checks
  • 5 Information Calls
  • 5 Public Infrastructure Checks
  • 5 Disturbance (Family) calls
  • 4 Welfare Checks
  • 4 Follow-Up investigations
  • 3 Alarm responses
  • 3 Suspicious Person calls
  • 3 Check Park patrols
  • 3 Disturbance (Other) calls

Deputies also responded to a variety of less frequent incidents, including assault investigations, suspicious vehicles, traffic stops, solicitor complaints, vehicle recovery, telephone harassment, terroristic threats, domestic prevention calls, parking lot checks, civil process service, fraud-related investigations and other community service activities. Like most monthly activity reports, these numbers reflect calls for service and deputy activity—not confirmed criminal offenses or crime trends. A single incident can also generate multiple related activities as deputies investigate, follow up or assist other agencies.

Why Proactive Patrol Matters

One of the biggest takeaways from the report is the emphasis on proactive policing.

Neighborhood patrols, business checks, infrastructure inspections and park patrols all help deputies identify suspicious activity before it develops into larger problems. Residents may also notice deputies stopping to speak with homeowners, checking common areas or simply driving through neighborhood streets at varying times of day.

These visible patrols serve several purposes:

  • Increasing law enforcement presence
  • Deterring criminal activity
  • Responding quickly when residents report concerns
  • Building relationships between deputies and the community

The 14 "Meet the Citizen/Officer" contacts recorded during June also highlight another important aspect of community policing—creating opportunities for residents to ask questions, share concerns and get to know the deputies serving their neighborhood.

Residents Play an Important Role

Law enforcement officials consistently emphasize that community safety works best as a partnership between deputies and residents.

If something doesn't look right—whether it's suspicious activity, unusual vehicles, vandalism or other non-emergency concerns—reporting it promptly gives deputies the opportunity to investigate while information is still fresh.

Residents are also encouraged to:

  • Lock vehicles and remove valuables from sight.
  • Report suspicious people or vehicles promptly.
  • Keep exterior lighting working properly.
  • Get to know neighbors and watch out for one another.
  • Use the Precinct 5 Vacation Watch program when traveling for extended periods.
