The wait is almost over for one of Champions Park's favorite neighborhood traditions. This weekend, residents will come together for two evenings of patriotic fun, friendly competition, and community celebration as Champions Park celebrates Independence Day.
After weeks of announcements and excitement, this is the final reminder for everything happening throughout the holiday weekend. From Friday night's neighborhood kickoff party to Saturday's parade, family competitions, and fireworks, Champions Park residents have two evenings packed with opportunities to celebrate America's 250th birthday alongside friends and neighbors.
Whether you're planning to decorate a golf cart, compete in the Hot Dog Eating Contest, bring your favorite homemade dessert to the Bake Off, or simply spread out a lawn chair to enjoy the fireworks, here's everything you need to know before the festivities begin.
Friday, July 3: Kick Off the Holiday Weekend
The celebration begins Friday evening with the Red, White, & Night Kickoff Party at the Clubhouse from 7:00 to 10:30 p.m.
Residents can gather for an evening featuring:
- Food truck favorites
- Dancing and music
- Family-friendly fun
- Time to reconnect with neighbors before Saturday's festivities
The relaxed kickoff has become a favorite way for residents to ease into the holiday weekend, offering a chance to catch up with familiar faces, welcome new neighbors, and enjoy a summer evening together without leaving the community.
Saturday, July 4: A Full Evening of Independence Day Fun
Saturday's schedule offers something for nearly every age and interest.
5:00 p.m. — Hot Dog Eating Contest & Neighborhood Bake Off
The festivities begin with two longtime community favorites.
Competitive eaters can see how many hot dogs they can finish during the annual contest, while local bakers have an opportunity to share their favorite homemade creations in the Neighborhood Bake Off, hosted at the Clubhouse. Even if you're not participating, it's always fun to cheer on contestants and enjoy the friendly competition.

Residents are encouraged to break out the red, white, and blue decorations and get creative before the parade begins.
7:30 p.m. — Parade Staging
Participants should gather along Cypress Point Drive beginning at 7:30 p.m. to prepare for the neighborhood parade.
7:45 p.m. — Parade Begins
One of Champions Park's most anticipated traditions gets underway as decorated bikes, golf carts, wagons, scooters, and families make their way through the neighborhood in a colorful display of community pride and patriotic spirit.
Whether you're marching or watching from the sidelines, the parade remains one of the highlights of the annual celebration.
8:30 p.m. — Light the Night Grand Finale Fireworks
The evening concludes with the Light the Night Grand Finale Fireworks Show, giving residents a chance to gather together and celebrate Independence Day under the night sky.
The fireworks have become a signature ending to Champions Park's annual celebration and provide a memorable finale for families enjoying the holiday close to home. The years' fireworks show is expected to be the biggest one yet—you won't want to miss it!

More Than a Celebration—A Neighborhood Tradition
While the contests, music, parade, and fireworks are certainly highlights, events like these are about something bigger than a holiday schedule.
They create opportunities for neighbors to spend time together, introduce new families to the community, and continue traditions that many children will remember long after the fireworks fade. In a neighborhood as established as Champions Park, annual events like the Fourth of July celebration help strengthen the connections that make the community feel like home.
Whether you're planning to attend one event or spend both evenings celebrating with neighbors, Champions Park's Fourth of July festivities offer a chance to enjoy America's 250th birthday the way many residents believe it should be celebrated—close to home, surrounded by community, and filled with traditions that bring neighbors together.
